Free Resources

It can be hard to keep the kids occupied (and your sanity) while everyone is in the house so I put together a list of free games, virtual tours, and learning resources. A few of these are free for a limited time the rest are always free.

Ranger Rick - the National Wildlife Foundation is currently free until the end of June with crafts, magazines and videos about animals



Scholastic Learn at Home - "Day by Day projects to keep kids reading, thinking and growing" for Kindergarten to Grade 9

Learn about the Rainforest with this free 12 page printable activity pack from Nickelodeon

Audible Stories - free audio books for toddlers to adults including classics like Winnie the Pooh, Alice in Wonderland and Frankenstein


@JoshGad the voice of Frozen's Olaf reads classic childrens books on Twitter

Check out over 50,000 free ebooks from Many Books which you can read online or download, which titles like Pride and Prejudice and the Adventures of Sherlock

Virtual Tours


take a virtual tour of twelve different famous museums 

Watch live web cams of the pandas, penguins, tigers and koalas at Edinburgh Zoo

Watch live webs cams from the Georgia Aquarium  where you can watch the jelly fish, otters, penguins, sea lions, piranhas and more aquatic animals in real time.

Take a virtual tour of Boston's Children's museum - which you can navigate through three 3 floors yourself.

Take a ride on a roller coaster with Virtual Disney World or you can check out a show or the park.

Games



PBS Kids has free games and videos and you can sign up for their newsletter for daily activities and learning tips for kids out of school. 


National Geographic for Kids includes, games, videos, weird but true series and more!

Math Games has math games, practices and printable work sheets

Can play free games from Treehouse TV or get a free printable Thomas the Train activity pack

TVO Kids has games, videos, boredom busters and activities


FunBrain.com has free videos, online books, educational games and more

Learning Resources

Learn Geography through interactive quizzes  from Seterra where you can learn provinces, state capitals and tons more!

Khan Academy  provides tons of math, science, computer programming and more free courses my school grade. You can create a profile for each child and have them progress through the various courses you choose. 

Check out free videos, games and ebooks from Sesame Street



Learn basic math through Math Storytime which you can choose to read to yourself or have read to you
Kids can practice their "doozie words" or sight words with these free printables for creating sentences

Kids can learn how to draw with Lunch Doodles a YouTube series from Mo Willems
