Toilet Paper Roll Animals

Since it's right around earth day I thought my toddlers and I would try to use items from around our house to work on our crafts - not to mention I never like spending too much money so my daughter and I decided to make toilet paper roll animals!

For our Toilet paper bunnies we used paints and a small craft container we bought at the dollar store for $3.

And my 3 year old painted the toilet paper rolls - she's on a painting kick lately, and we wrapped one in pink construction paper - so we wouldn't have to wait for the paint to dry.

I cut out some ears - and we added googlie eyes (although you could just draw them on), pipe cleaner whiskers and little pom poms for their tails.

My daughter wanted to do a craft we have never done before so we also decided to make chicks.

I ripped up some yellow construction paper into thin strips which we glued the top of and layered them onto the chick like feathers. Although tissue paper or yellow craft feathers would also work great too. I cut a nose and feet out of orange foam pieces, although construction paper would work just as well and she glued them on.

And voila a cute chick! Is it just me or is it looking a little like a puppy except for the fact that it's yellow? Oh well it's cute none the less.

We also decided to create a little piggy with a curly pipe cleaner for a tail - and a little foam 'snouty nose'

Did you have any crafts you used your toilet paper rolls for? Would love to hear about them!

  3. I love the chick. I tried to make some when my little ones were really young and they turned out hilarious. I think I might try again now they are a bit older and hopefully they will resemble the animals they are suppose to like these :-) #LetKidsBeKids

  8. There we have it, it is a simle, straightforward cleaning accessory, not a decorative item. It is a brush because it is required to scrub away at those resistant stubborn stains. toilet cleaning brush
